Food Buyer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Purchasing professional to join a busy organisation as a Food Buyer.

Role Responsibilities of the Food Buyer;
Ensure that the stock levels are maintained and orders placed for the products required on a daily basis.
Ensure selected suppliers are performing to satisfactory levels required by the business.
Interact with the sales team on product information.
Run weekly reports as specified where necessary.
Assist with Purchase Ledger queries.
Report product shortages to sales on a daily basis and reduce the level of shortages.
Double check all core line products as defined to ensure no shortages on these lines.
Assist in data updates on the system.
Assist with new projects designed to improve the efficiency of the purchasing department.
Undertake administrative duties as and when required.

Personal Specification of the Food Buyer;
Degree Qualified or equivalent.
Proven Purchasing experience.
Strong communication skills.
Excellent IT skills including Excel.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
Strong problem-solving skills.

This role would also suit you if you have held a role within purchasing or procurement as a Buyer, junior Buyer, Sourcing Specialist, Commodity Manager, Supplier Manager or Category Manager.
