Procurement Manager

A fantastic new opportunity for a dynamic procurement professional to join a busy organisation, to be responsible for the management of Purchasing activities and for the development of strategies. The Procurement Manager will also be required to lead a dynamic team and get involved in NPI activities.

Key Responsibilities of the Procurement Manager;
Devise and implement supply strategies that support the New Product introduction and the production plan set by the business.
Negotiate contracts for supply of material from existing and new sources in line with business strategy.
Reduce material costs wherever possible within the guidelines of quality standards and inventory levels determined by the business and in line with or better than agreed targets.
Ensure adequate and on time delivery of materials for production at all the production sites in line with inventory strategies and objectives.
Development and implementation of all purchasing and material control systems.
To be responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of data held in the manufacturing databases.
Responsibility for the management of suppliers upholding and improving quality standards of all incoming materials.
Participate in setting and achieving short-term targets and longer-term goals for purchasing and manufacturing operations in general.
Responsible for the review, management and delegation of all purchasing activity.
Responsible for setting and achieving appropriate stretching KPI targets for the Purchasing function
Undertake cost reduction campaigns with selected suppliers as determined from time to time.
Source new materials for new and existing products as required.

Personal Specification of the Procurement Manager;
Degree qualified or equivalent.
Professional qualifications (CIPS) would be an advantage.
Proven Procurement experience within a Manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of Purchasing practices and legislation.
Strong Leadership skills.
Strong analytical and numeracy skills.
Good working knowledge of MRP / ERP systems.
Strong negotiation & influencing skills.
Commercially astute.
Results driven, combined with positive attitude, high level of energy, passion and enthusiasm.
Ability to travel across Europe as required.

This role would also suit you if you have held a role within purchasing or procurement as a Supply Chain Manager, Purchasing Manager, Procurement Manager, Head of Procurement or Procurement Director.
