Procurement Category Manager

A fantastic opportunity for a Procurement Category Manager to join a market leading manufacturer and distributer based in Doncaster with a salary up to £45,000. The Senior buyer will be responsible for a portfolio of commodities, and is a senior role in the purchasing department, with excellent progression opportunities over the next few years.

Candidates will have previous experience within purchasing or procurement specifically within a manufacturing environment, at buyer level and be keen to progress in their career and either CIPS qualified or working towards this.

Role responsibilities of the Procurement Category Manager include:
– The procurement of a portfolio of materials & components as required by use of the MRP system.
– Negotiation and development of contracts within the purchasing team for the procurement of commodities.
– Supplier performance management.
– Develop & strengthen relationships with suppliers and internal departments.
– Mentor and develop direct reportees.

Person Specification of the Procurement Category Manager:
-Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement or Buyer role within a manufacturing industry
-Knowledge of MRP systems
-Confident in dealing with all levels of people in a professional manner
-Driven and motivated individual with a desire to progress
– Tendering and Bid experience
-CIPS qualified or working towards

Salary
Up to £45k
