A fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Procurement professional to join a leading organisation as a Buyer, responsible for purchasing raw materials for production.

Key Responsibilities of the Buyer;

Process purchase requisitions.

Coordinate order activity to ensure material is delivered on time.

Ensure purchase orders to be delayed or cancelled due to changes in the production schedule are actioned in a timely manner.

Source and negotiate prices for materials, consumables, equipment and services.

Ensure that relevant contracts are in place for key suppliers as assigned and supported by the Procurement Manager.

Ensure pricing and supplier master data is kept up to date.

Manage activities with relevant suppliers.

Personal Specification of the Buyer;

Degree qualified or equivalent within a relevant discipline.

Professional qualifications would be an advantage.

Experience of purchasing raw materials.

Experience within a highly regulated Manufacturing or FMCG environment.

Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Enthusiastic and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Able to multi-task and manage own time effectively.

Able to work under pressure and to set deadlines.

This role would also suit you if you have held a role as a Buyer, Senior Buyer, Strategic Buyer or Purchasing Controller.
