A great opportunity for a dynamic procurement professional to join a leading organisation as a Buyer, to be responsible for managing the spend in respect of purchasing activities, ensuring that products and services are supplied at the lowest possible acquisition cost.
Key Responsibilities of the Buyer;
Process purchase orders for the procurement of goods, services and supplies.
Ensure on-time delivery and negotiate with suppliers to reach highest quality at best value.
Initiates RFQ process and prepare bid documents.
Resolve problems and issues related to purchasing.
Maintain an understanding of suppliers' capabilities and current capacity.
Understand market drivers, so that reasonable pricing can be determined and supply risk reduced.
Develop appropriate sources of supply and maintain working relationships with suppliers.
Maintain current and accurate purchase order data in the purchasing system.
Personal Specification of the Buyer;
Educated to Degree Level or equivalent.
Proven Purchasing experience.
Experience of preparing Bids and negotiating Contracts.
Experience within a Manufacturing / Engineering environment.
Strong commercial acumen.
Excellent communication & negotiation skills.
Excellent IT skills including MS Office.
Driven and flexible attitude.
Enthusiastic and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
This role would also suit you if you have held a role as a Buyer, Senior Buyer, Purchasing Controller, Purchasing Administrator, Junior Buyer, Procurement Assistant or Commercial Coordinator.
