A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Commercial professional to join a leading organisation as a Buyer on an initial fixed term contract basis to cover maternity leave.

Key Responsibilities of the Buyer;

Tactical purchasing of all operational goods.

Negotiation of commercial terms to achieve cost savings.

Develop effective supplier relationships.

Identify opportunities to drive performance in supply, cost, quality, innovation and risk.

Encourage communication and sharing of information within the team and with customers.

Ensure the relevant data in purchasing systems is updated and maintained in a timely and accurate manner.

Adhere to agreed policies, procedures & processes for the purchase and supply of products and services.

Personal Specification of the Buyer;

Procurement experience.

Degree qualified or equivalent.

CIPS qualification or studying towards preferred but not essential.

Experience within a Manufacturing or Engineering environment.

Excellent negotiation skills are essential.

Strong Commercial acumen.

Good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.

Enthusiastic and ability to work effectively as part of a team

Able to work under pressure and to set deadlines.

This role would also suit you if you have held a role as a Buyer, Junior Buyer, Supplier Manager, Strategic Buyer, Purchaser, Procurement Analyst or Purchasing Controller.
