A fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Procurement professional to join a growing organisation as a Chemicals Buyer, responsible for analysing requirements and pricing to drive best value to the business.

Key Responsibilities of the Chemical Buyer;

Develop an understanding of the chemical category spend, the market for the products purchased, and identify the factors which influence availability and pricing.

Develop and implement sourcing strategies at global and regional level within the assigned categories of spend.

Agree targeted projects with global procurement category team and key category stakeholders and define and lead project plan.

Negotiate and deliver price and supply conditions ensuring commercial terms are optimised, supply maintained, and contracts implemented and managed.

Develop supplier performance metrics and measures to ensure ongoing quality and consistency of products and services,

Provide project cost benefit analysis.

Consult with key internal stakeholder groups to provide information regarding the competition, pricing initiatives and quality, service, and new opportunities.

Collaborate on a regional and global basis to identify synergies that will maximise strategic procurement initiatives.

Demonstrate best practice within the procurement process, including; vendor selection, specifications, tender & negotiation process, business award and contracts implementation.

Optimise total cost of ownership, provide insights to stakeholders and ensure sufficient supply.

Personal Specification of the Chemical Buyer;

Degree qualified or equivalent within a relevant discipline e.g. Chemistry.

Professional qualifications would be an advantage.

Proven experience within a Strategic Procurement position.

Knowledge of Sourcing and Supplier Management.

Experience of purchasing Raw Materials / Chemicals is essential.

Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Excellent IT skills including MS Office.

Able to multi-task and manage own time effectively.

Able to work under pressure and to set deadlines.
