An opportunity has arisen for a Contract Manager to join an organisation based in Bristol. This role will be joining a rapidly expanding team and will support procurement with contract reviews, contract drafting, the formation of new contracts and ensuring that best practice principles are adhered too.

Main responsibilities of the Contract Manager

  • Developing long lasting relationships with suppliers
  • Ensuring that all decisions are in line with the category and supply chain strategy
  • Carry out contract reviews, both operational and strategic and address any performance issues
  • Carry out additional sourcing requirements after a contract review
  • Continue to bring continuous improvement and collaboration from your supplier base, making sure that the suppliers are fully engaged with the organisation
  • Analyse risk, and find solutions to any issues and deal with suppliers when they do not meet their contractual obligations

Skills & Experience required of the Contract Manager

  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Sourcing experience - you need to understand the full end to end procurement process
  • Strong commercial acumen - these suppliers are sometimes very challenging
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • The ability to work under pressure and the ability to prioritise - this role is very reactive
