An exciting opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to join a leading manufacturing organisation as a Procurement Commodity Manager. This role will be responsible for developing the commodity strategy and managing supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities of the Procurement Commodity Manager;

  • Define and deliver cost reduction projects in line with set targets.
  • Define appropriate procurement commodity strategy incorporating business needs and priorities.
  • Manage day to day supplier relationships and performance.
  • Conduct proactive market analysis and influencing factors within given category of spend.
  • Define and execute Supplier Relationship Management strategy.
  • Analyse commodity spend and translate into meaningful insights driving sourcing decisions.
  • Proactively manage costs with suppliers by leveraging various cost elements.
  • Track and monitor market trends for key raw materials.
  • Prepare and execute clear structured negotiations and tenders.
  • Implement and manage contractual agreements with suppliers.
  • Identify risks at supplier level, prioritise and execute mitigation plans accordingly.
  • Lead sourcing decisions and support engineering.

Personal Specification of the Procurement Commodity Manager;

  • CIPS qualification would be preferred.
  • Proven Procurement & Commodity Management experience.
  • Experience of working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Electronics commodity experience would be preferred.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise workload.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
