An exciting opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to join a leading manufacturing organisation as a Procurement Commodity Manager. This role will be responsible for developing the commodity strategy and managing supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities of the Procurement Commodity Manager;
Establish effective commodity strategies.
Develop and negotiate supply agreements with key suppliers.
Manage tenders and develop supplier selection methods.
Negotiate costs and identify and continuously deliver cost reduction programmes.
Support new product development and introduction.
Effectively manage key supplier relationships.
Improve supplier performance through effective KPI's.
Identify and manage supply chain risk.
Mentor and develop other members of the team.
Personal Specification of the Procurement Commodity Manager;
CIPS qualification would be preferred.
Proven Procurement & Commodity Management experience.
Ability to manage RFQ Process.
Experience of working within a manufacturing environment.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to effectively prioritise workload.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
Flexibility to travel to meet suppliers as required.
