An exciting opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to join a leading manufacturing organisation as a Procurement Commodity Manager. This role will be responsible for developing the commodity strategy and managing supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities of the Procurement Commodity Manager;
Develop and implement the Electronics Sourcing Strategies in line with Group Commodity strategy.
Identify new opportunities and develop a consolidated supplier base to meet current and future commodity needs.
Develop Low Cost Country sourcing, based on Business Unit requirements.
Lead the supplier qualification and developments.
Coordinate source change management activities.
Negotiate and implement Robust Supplier contracts in line with Group Procurement policy.
Work closely with engineering development teams for NPI programs and incorporate into the overall Electronics strategy.
Organise and lead supplier involvement for the development of future projects.
Anticipate market supply risks, propose mitigation plan to secure long term sourcing.
Maintain relationships with suppliers and the business community.
Ensure and promote high level service from all Electronic suppliers.
Promote options leading to reduced total cost of ownership by developing standardisation on processes and technical specifications
Personal Specification of the Procurement Commodity Manager;
CIPS qualification would be preferred.
Proven Procurement & Commodity Management experience.
Ability to manage RFQ Process.
Experience of working within a manufacturing environment.
Experience of purchasing Electronics would be preferred.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to effectively prioritise workload.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
Flexibility to travel to meet suppliers as required.
