A great opportunity for an experienced Procurement professional to join a leading organisation as a Procurement Manager to be responsible for a small team and all Direct & Indirect Spend.
Key Responsibilities of the Procurement Manager;
Effectively manage all aspects of supplier relationships to ensure continuity of supply.
Ensure commercial terms are suitable for the business strategy.
Encourage a competitive and varied supply market by applying best practice tools and techniques.
Drive and manage cost reduction initiatives.
Optimise inventory levels to ensure product availability in collaboration with the Supply Chain.
Promote Supplier Relationship Management and actively engage with key suppliers.
Deliver continuous improvement of supplier performance (Cost, Deliver, Service and Quality).
Manage tender processes for new contracts and contract renewals.
Manager supplier KPI's, developing vendor score cards for effective decision making.
Coach and develop the team in all aspects of effective vendor management and relationship management.
Provide procurement input to New Product Introduction projects.
Ensure a robust supply chain is in place from initial launch to long term security of supply.
Personal Specification of the Procurement Manager;
Degree qualified within a relevant discipline.
Professional qualifications e.g. MCIPS.
Proven Procurement & Strategic Sourcing experience.
Experience within a Manufacturing / Engineering environment.
Strong Leadership skills.
Strong Communication & Negotiation skills.
Ability to work using own initiative and to prioritise effectively.
Ambitious and Self-Motivated.
Flexibility to travel in the UK and Internationally as required.
This role would suit a candidate with experience in the following positions; Purchasing Manager, Category Manager, Commodity Manager, Senior Buyer, Lead Buyer, Purchasing Team Leader, Purchasing Supervisor, or Procurement Manager.
