Procurement Manager

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for to join a growing organisation in the space industry. This role will be the main Procurement contact for the business, ensuring contracts are drafted, compliant, placed on time, to ensure projects are completed on time and for the right cost, and to be the main point of contact for procurement advice. This is a great opportunity to grow and develop, as the future would be to develop a team as the business grows.

The role holder will need experience within the Public sector and have experience within a Manufacturing environment. This role will be best suited for a Procurement Manager, Purchasing Manager, Senior Buyer, Category Manager.

Role responsibilities of the Procurement Manager:

  • Adhering to the Public sector contract regulations and process
  • Purchasing a broad variety of commodities whilst also managing a broad range of indirect categories.
  • Drafting tender specifications and evaluation criteria using knowledge of contract clauses, and terms and conditions.
  • Working on multiple long term, large projects.
  • Providing support to the contract management lifecycle. Drafting contracts, contract mobilisation and regularly holding contract reviews.
  • Recognising commercial ramifications and impact of decisions.
  • Managing strategic relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers, and other affiliated organisations.
  • Supporting Budget holders & their objectives - delivering best value, compliance & timely contract award.
  • Engagement with business and project managers to support them with the development of commercial opportunities by providing information on contracts, risk evaluation and compliance.

Person Specification of the Procurement Manager:

  • Public sector Experience, specifically on contract regulations and the OJEU procurement framework.
  • Experience within a Technical/Manufacturing Industry
  • CIPS qualification desirable (or working towards)

Up to £50k
