A fantastic opportunity for a Procurement Officer / Senior Buyer to join a Public Body based in South West London with a salary band range of £33,798 - £45,646. The Procurement Officer / Senior Buyer role will be Hybrid working 3 days in office. The Procurement Officer / Senior Buyer ensures the purchases for the supply of goods, works and services are achieved in accordance with Public Contract Regulations. They are responsible for providing specialist advice and support to Buying Managers, proactively identifying opportunities to support and facilitate procurement exercises, whilst support the Procurement Manager in developing Procurement Strategy and reviewing Procurement Processes and Contract Standing Orders.

Role responsibilities of the Procurement Officer / Senior Buyer include:

  • Providing advice on all aspects of Procurement
  • Leading and managing Procurement Projects that are high value, complex or cross-organisational
  • Negotiating and deliver value for money contracts and successful outcomes
  • Identifying opportunities for yielding cost savings and qualitative improvements
  • Assisting the Procurement Manager in development of the Procurement annual work programme, proactively planning for upcoming tendering projects
  • Supporting the use of the e-tendering and contract system for management and monitoring of all procurement exercises

Person Specification of the Procurement Officer / Senior Buyer

  • Extensive experience of the Procurement of contracts for the supply of goods, works and services via quotes or tenders to UK and EU procurement rules and regulations
  • Significant experience writing and producing tender specifications
  • CIPS Level 5 or above is essential
  • Excellent communicator with gravitas to be able to work with key stakeholders
  • Experience of using an electronic tendering and contract management system

Salary:

Up to £45,646

Hybrid working 3 days in office.
