An exciting opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to join a leading manufacturing organisation as a Purchasing Manager. This role will be responsible for managing a small team of Buyers.
Key Responsibilities of the Purchasing Manager;
Ensure all purchase orders are placed on time with suppliers to ensure deliveries dates meet production demands.
Ensure supplier schedules are managed, actioned, and maintained on a weekly basis.
Work with production planning and operations to mitigate any risk to production.
Maintain Production output report with best current delivery dates for purchased items.
Represent purchasing at the arrears and weekly shortage meetings.
Take the lead on agreed supplier development programme.
Manage and develop low cost sourcing activities, in conjunction with group procurement strategy.
Personal Specification of the Purchasing Manager;
CIPS qualification would be preferred.
Proven Procurement experience.
Strong Leadership skills.
Experience of working within a manufacturing environment.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
Flexibility to travel to meet suppliers as required.
This role would also suit you if you have held a role within purchasing or procurement as a Senior Buyer, Purchasing Controller, Commodity Manager, Sourcing Manager, Category Manager, Supplier Manager, Procurement Manager, Purchasing Team Leader or Supply Chain Manager.
