Butler Ross have a few Senior Buyer opportunities for an automotive manufacturing company based outside of Stafford. The role will be working with a large commodity portfolio which will and need someone with strong Purchasing experience within a manufacturing and engineering environment.

This role would be best suited for someone who is a Category manager, Commodity Manager, Commodity Buyer, Technical Buyer, Engineering Buyer, Senior Buyer or a Purchasing Manager

Role responsibilities of the Senior Buyer:

• Engage suppliers and ensure parts are designed to cost and designed for manufacture.
• Support internal Quality teams to ensure suppliers meet the required targets
• Support cost down initiatives, bringing new ideas and suggestions and implementing them accordingly
• Negotiate and agree Long Term Agreements with 'Key' suppliers, minimising risk.
• Engage with Engineering in order to ensure that drawing release plans are achieved
• Track unapproved parts and create recovery plans to mitigate potential risk
• Work in conjunction with Advanced and Business Unit Engineering to deliver the cost targets and delivery of these throughout the NPI process
• Negotiate and close out supplier warranty agreements
• Carry out the required process for ensuring new suppliers meet group minimum requirements
• Compile a budget for suppliers that sit within their regional responsibility the buyer will be responsible for compiling and delivering an annual budget for the Lead Buy areas, and support the execution of the global elements of the budget
• To promote VA/VE activity within the supply base and support the implementation of approved projects
• Negotiate preferred payment terms with supplier in line with agreed objectives

Person Specification of the Senior Buyer:

• 5 years + Purchasing Experience
• Manufacturing Industry experience
• Understanding of technical and Engineering drawings

Salary

£40,000 - £50,000
