A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Procurement professional to join a leading organisation as a Senior Buyer.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Buyer;
Develop, implement and lead category sourcing strategy for defined areas.
End to end sourcing and supply process for a category from supporting business partners to develop a definition of need through to confirmation of delivery and supplier payment.
Develop effective supplier relationships.
Lead and execute tendering, negotiating, contracting and contract management activities on significant spend areas within their category.
Identify and lead opportunities to drive performance in supply, cost, quality, innovation and risk.
Conduct regular analysis of supplier spend and volume data, reducing overall supply chain costs.
Encourage communication and sharing of information within the team and with customers.
Ensure the relevant data in purchasing systems is updated and maintained in a timely and accurate manner.
Adhere to agreed policies, procedures & processes for the purchase and supply of products and services.
Personal Specification of the Senior Buyer;
Proven Strategic Procurement experience.
Degree qualified or equivalent.
CIPS qualification or studying towards preferred but not essential.
Technical Procurement experience within a Manufacturing or Engineering environment.
Excellent communication & negotiation skills
Good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
Enthusiastic and ability to work effectively as part of a team
Able to work under pressure and to set deadlines.
Flexibility to travel as required.
