Butler Ross are working closely with a leading organisation based in Southampton who have a global reach. They are currently recruiting for two Senior Buyer positions - one focusing on HR/Professional Services and FM and the other general indirect procurement.

Main responsibilities of the Senior Buyer

  • Lead on sourcing strategy for your assigned categories
  • Ensure that you are responsible for risk analysis within your category areas
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders on category strategy to ensure that all requirements are met
  • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers alike
  • Lead on tendering, contract management, negotiation and deal with any supplier disputes
  • Conduct spend analysis on all category areas
  • Support in the development of the buyers within the team

Skills & Experience required of the Senior Buyer

  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Experience within indirect procurement - ideally HR/Professional Services/FM or other indirect categories
  • Sourcing experience - you need to understand the full end to end procurement process
  • Strong commercial acumen - these suppliers are sometimes very challenging
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • The ability to work under pressure and the ability to prioritise - this role is very reactive
  • Knowledge of complex contract management
  • Ability to drive the team to achieve
