Senior Supply Chain Specialist

An industry leading opportunity for a Senior Supply Chain Specialist to join a global engineering services firm based in Bristol with a salary up to £50,000. This Supply Chain Management position has been created due to business growth. The Senior Supply Chain Specialist will sit in the supply chain team, with excellent progression opportunities into a supply chain manager position over the next few years.

Candidates will have previous experience within supply chain ideally within purchasing, procurement, or supply chain functions, at supply chain manager, supply chain specialist, purchasing specialist, procurement manager, purchasing manager, or procurement specialist level, and be keen to progress in their career.

Role responsibilities of the Senior Supply Chain Specialist include:

  • Preparation of RFQs and analysis of supplier responses to ensure the optimal procurement solution is presented to the business;
  • Production and coordination of purchase requisitions and purchase orders, including ongoing administration to ensure data integrity;
  • Preparation, negotiation and administration of subcontracts and statements of work to ensure business requirements are delivered efficiently and effectively;
  • Processing of supplier invoices ensuring all deliverables have been met and appropriate budget holder sign-off is obtained in a timely manner;
  • Liaison with project teams to ensure procurement requirements are communicated and considered, and supply chain support is provided appropriately;
  • Conducting supplier progress reviews, management of action trackers, and managing ongoing performance of suppliers to ensure on time delivery, quality and contracted obligations are being met;
  • Maintenance of performance metrics where required and supporting functional reporting requirements;
  • Supporting generation, maintenance and improvement of functional procedures and processes; and
  • Maintenance of key due diligence and supplier approval documentation.

Person Specification of the Supply Chain Manager:

  • Ability to work on own initiative and with some supervision;
  • Prioritise own workload and organise own time to achieve objectives;
  • Proactive style and flexible attitude to scope of role;
  • Seek to identify opportunities for continuous improvement within own role;
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently whilst paying attention to detail;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Contribute as an effective team member;
  • Ability to work with individuals at all levels of business both internally and externally;
  • High standard of technical skills including MS Office particularly Excel; and
  • Previous experience of working in an engineering environment would be advantageous.
