A fantastic new opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to join a leading manufacturing organisation as a Strategic Senior Buyer on a Fixed Term Contract basis.


Key Responsibilities of the Strategic Senior Buyer;

Drive projects that promote total cost ownership approach to spend management.

Build a supply base that meets the global manufacturing needs.

Manage end-to-end sourcing for Key Commodities & risk mitigation strategies.

Collaborate with Senior Managers to identify and drive innovative Procurement strategies across multiple commodities.

Manage tender processes within the business, providing guidance regarding best practice procurement.

Support purchasing team in best practice procurement practices.

Formulate, agree and maintain commercial terms and conditions, service level and supply agreements.

Facilitate an ongoing supplier relationship management process.


Personal Specification of the Strategic Senior Buyer;

CIPS qualification would be preferred.

Proven Procurement experience.

Experience of working within a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Excellent IT skills including Intermediate Excel skills.

Good working knowledge of MRP / ERP systems.

Ability to effectively prioritise workload.

Ability to work well on own initiative and as part of a team.

Strong problem solving skills.

Self-motivated and enthusiastic.

Flexibility to travel to meet suppliers as required.


This role would also suit you if you have held a role within purchasing or procurement as a Senior Buyer, Purchasing Controller, Category Manager, Supplier Manager or Buyer.
