A fantastic opportunity has opened up for a Supply Chain Manager to join a global defence company working from home for the majority with a salary up to £55,000. This position has been created due to continuous growth and recent acquisitions in this department as well as a paradigm shift in procurement strategy. The Supply Chain Manager will sit in the bids and programmes department, with great progression opportunities to more senior positions over the next few years.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a Defence environment, with 3-5 years supply chain or procurement experience.

Role responsibilities of the Supply Chain Manager

  • Support and deliver a paradigm shift in procurement activity; elevating strategic value & output through the creation of new supply chains to facilitate business growth for the end Customers on a global basis.
  • Identify, develop and nurture positive supplier relationships in order to achieve the company's future growth aspirations
  • Working at the front-end of the business, in support of longer term (2yr+) business development activity, understanding future capability needs & matching these with future supplier & capability partners
  • creating & driving the procurement strategy, sourcing process & supplier risk management activity.
  • Experienced in creating Make Vs Buy determinations & influencing senior internal stakeholders to drive the optimum sourcing & business outcomes.
  • You will collaboratively develop & lead on the delivery of industrial strategies with key stakeholders
  • Ensuring compliance with process, governance and controls as agreed in the Procurement Code of Practice and Sourcing methodology.

Person Specification of the Supply Chain Manager

  • 5+ years in a Procurement or Supply Chain related role.
  • Knowledge & prior experience of strategic bidding and business development activity.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with key decision-makers in order to influence behaviours and ensure appropriate involvement of Procurement in all sourcing activities.
  • Ability to manage and support others through the bidding process
  • Knowledge & significant prior application of UK Defence & Government procurement practices.
  • Highly proficient in the identification & mitigation of supply chain, organisational, regulatory, legal & commercial risk.
  • Experience of conducting International business
  • Highly results oriented. Keeps the organisation on track and delivery oriented.
  • Proven contract drafting & negotiation skills.

This role will be well suited to you if you have held a role within Supply Chain Management, Procurement or Purchasing as a Supply Chain Manager, Supplier Manager, Procurement Manager or Purchasing Manager.
