Technical Buyer

Butler Ross has a fantastic opportunity for a Technical Buyer to join a progressive Automotive company in Northampton. The role will be dealing with bespoke builds, and ideally the candidate will come from a Motorsport, R&D, NPI or Prototype Manufacturing Background. The role will be managing multiple projects through to completion, ensuring they are all smooth running and cost efficient.

This role will be best suited for a Technical Buyer, Engineering Buyer, Programme Buyer, Senior Buyer, Project Buyer or Buyer.

Role responsibilities of the Technical Buyer:

  • Working closely with suppliers to ensure swift delivery whilst ensuring quality and cost targets are met in a JIT environment.
  • Contributing to Project meetings to best understand each individual project, and plan purchasing activities accordingly.
  • Resolving any purchase order discrepancies
  • Sourcing components, and making sure suppliers adhere to agreed T&C's to align with build deadlines.
  • Managing and improve relationships with new and existing suppliers by creating a process which will improve this process.
  • Work with engineers and reading technical drawings.
  • Support other areas of the Supply Chain when required.

Person Specification of the Technical Buyer:

  • Experience of working within a Tier 1 Automotive environment, Motorsport, Prototypes or New Product.
  • Proven experience in a Purchasing and Procurement role
  • Experience working an SME environment

Salary

Up to 35k
