The Assistant Buyer will be responsible for ensuring orders are progressed and received within the correct timescales to meet the Production Schedule.
Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Buyer;
Generate regular reports using the MRP system to produce an accurate overview of placed orders. Identify shortages, delays and issues that may directly impact production schedules.
Liaise with suppliers (both external and internal), progress purchase orders and internal work orders.
Accurately update all transactions added to works orders ensuring a comprehensive view of materials orders and deliveries.
Provide regular and comprehensive statistical and general information.
Process Purchase Requisitions and ensure all requisitions submitted comply with set Company Authority Levels.
Analyse, action and prioritise allocated purchasing demands, generated via the MRP system to meet Production schedules.
Obtain quotations, analyse and place orders with suppliers in a timely manner.
Ensure all orders are placed within correct authority levels and are recorded accurately.
Assist the Purchasing team with any related administration.
Personal Specification of the Assistant Buyer;
Purchasing / Procurement experience is essential.
Experience within a manufacturing environment.
Good General Level of Education.
Excellent IT skills including MS Office.
Good working knowledge of ERP / MRP systems.
Strong communication skills
Ability to work well as part of a team
Self-motivated and able to work independently
This role would be suitable for individuals with experience in Procurement, Buying, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Sales or Purchasing.
