  • I Joined Butler Ross in 2015 following a number of years with a large generalist agency and was tasked with growing the permanent recruitment division for Procurement & Supply Chain recruitment across the Manufacturing and FMCG sectors. The most rewarding thing for me is having the freedom to utilise my skills and expertise in the role I was bought in to do. My knowledge & experience is recognised, and I feel I have the freedom and flexibility to implement the ideas I believe relevant to our success. The flat management structure and clear vision at Butler Ross has been particularly refreshing, enabling me to help develop a working environment that celebrates success and offers flexibility and fun, this has included various trips for outstanding performance (skiing in Chamonix and lunch at The Savoy!!), early finishes on a Friday and regular social events with the team.  It is also important to note that whilst I have the autonomy to grow I also have the support to develop further with a clear career path and a coaching and mentoring culture to enhance my personal development. Butler Ross has an open and honest culture which allows for quick decision making and flexibility and has allowed me and my team to really focus on providing outstanding service to both our candidates and clients.  I really feel I have the comprehensive support from the Owners that I need to enable me to progress my career and to develop more junior members of the team to ensure Butler Ross becomes the number 1 Procurement & Supply Chain recruitment agency in the UK!

  • I joined Butler Ross in September 2017 as a Candidate Attraction Consultant. The hiring process was remarkably thorough and really gave me a fantastic insight into the role, the environment, the culture, what would be expected of me and the progression opportunities. This made accepting the offer an easy one, it was an opportunity and a challenge I didn’t want to turn down and has led to me working with an amazing team. I previously came from an events background, and as this was my first role in recruitment I was starting from scratch so first I needed to understand the recruitment industry and Procurement & Supply Chain as a profession. With comprehensive support, training and patience from the Leadership Team I am now ready to take my next step into a junior consultant role. This is something that I can’t wait to do. One of the things that amazes me the most about Butler Ross is it’s not a race to fill the seats its about getting the right people for the business to grow long term. How they view customer service is vital to this.

  • I only joined Butler Ross in July 2018.  I came from a car sales background so had great face to face experience but was limited on the phones.  The training and development to date has been excellent and I know I am only just getting started. I can clearly see the time and effort that Butler Ross will devote to my development helping me build the tools I need to be successful. I can honestly say that Butler Ross has a great approach to personal and career development. I also really enjoy the fact that all the consultants are sector and geography specialists this is great because I can focus on a core business sector in only one geographic area meaning that I can become a true specialist and getting to know that market inside and out including all the clients and candidates. This allows me to support them better on their employment or recruitment journeys.   Being located in central Winchester is also great. The culture is fun and ambitious with lots of perks and incentives, even the small things are great such as dress down Friday with an early finish for a few drinks in the Pub!!

  • I have been working in recruitment for 3 years now and it took me two attempts to find an environment where I can thrive.  I am so glad I joined Butler Ross because I am loving it! Recruitment can be thankless and very hard, so working for someone and having an industry sector you feel passionately about is important.  I love being a specialist and only focusing on one profession rather than being a generalist which doesn’t allow you any market expertise.   • I joined Butler Ross in October 2017, with several years prior experience in a completely different sector.  Joining Butler Ross was an extremely easy decision, having met with the directors over a coffee to talk about what we were both expecting, to then meeting with the leadership team. I wanted to make sure I would be joining somewhere with an excellent culture, ambition and growth – so far, all have exceeded my expectations. The main selling point is that we all have our own specialist’s sectors and geography, making us experts in our chosen area, of course with the help of the directors and leadership teams expertise. Support is on hand whenever needed, whether it be a niche role, or a simple question. You are really pushed to be your best, and making sure you will be the best recruiter you can possibly be! Butler Ross offer an excellent commission package, which has supported my busy social life and love of watches – early finish on a Friday for drinks is great, especially with the dress down you can make a night of it!

  • I have recently joined the team at Butler Ross following on from 8 years as a Generalist Recruiter. Being local to Winchester I have known Butler Ross since they started and watched them grow to become the market leader they are.  Ready for a change and new challenge I joined the business at the end of September and haven’t looked back, it was the best decision for me and my career to specialise in an Industry specific sector such as Procurement and Supply Chain. It was clear from the start of my initial conversations with Russell he was a true Leader highly motivated and energetic yet strategic with a clear vision to grow the business. During the interview process he invested a lot of time in demonstrating the opportunity available to me and was very transparent throughout each stage it was evident that Butler Ross had a lot to offer. I wasn’t wrong the Directors are hands on and very approachable and the rest of the team are super friendly and supportive which contributes to the fun and rewarding culture the business offers!
