An excellent opportunity for a dynamic supply chain professional to join a busy organisation as a Material Planner. The Material Planner will be responsible for managing the effective planning of all materials required for production. Key Responsibilities of the Material Planner; Work with the suppliers to ensure material supply meets production requirements with minimum stock levels, whilst managing transport costs within financial budgets. Analyse MRP schedule requirements against current planned schedules and collaborate with suppliers where schedule changes are required. Communicate potential material shortage and status with the operations team as and when required. Track and monitor supplier performance levels and hold regular performance reviews with suppliers to drive improvement. Escalate poor supplier performance to Purchasing team. Review material planning parameters to ensure optimum inventory holding. Take ownership of material planning issues that arise, including over or under delivery and take any follow up actions. Manage inventory risk and ensure that contingency plans are in place. Escalate shortages within the internal organisation to ensure parts are expedited. Set up, manage and maintain the controlling parameters (Lead-times/ safety stock) and ensure the data is valid. Personal Specification of the Material Planner; Degree qualified or equivalent. Materials Planning experience. Experience within a Manufacturing environment is essential. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing processes. Good working knowledge of MRP / ERP systems. Strong communication skills. Ability to operate well in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated and enthusiastic. With a salary of £22,000 this role would be perfect for someone wants to join a company who will support them with their career progression. They are looking for someone who has had a similar role ideally in Inventory Management, Inventory Control, Stock Management and Stock control or who has worked as an Expeditor or Shipping Controller Candidates will have previous experience within Materials, Inventory or Stock control and ideally will have backgrounds in Inventory Management, Materials Management, Stock Control, Shipping and Expediting. Role responsibilities of the Material Coordinator: To release Purchase Orders and expedite component orders, maintaining delivery dates to a schedule to support Assembly and After Sales. Raise manually generated orders to provide components outside of MRP control. Monitor the delivery performance of selected vendors, agree and implement improvements in supplier delivery adherence. To monitor the progress on supplier deliveries. Attend supplier and department meetings to discuss and agree targets and actions in line with above responsibilities. To identify and report in a timely manner any risks to continuity of component supply. Support other areas of the department and organisation in order to achieve the company objectives. Control the delivery of imported goods Liase with the Purchasing and Logistics departments to arrange deliveries to at the requested time.
