Buyer

This is an excellent opportunity to take on a long term contract working for a prime contractor in the defence engineering and manufacturing sector.

As a Buyer your role will be to manage the full end of end procurement process for both mechanical (machined components/fabrications) and electrical (components, cables) commodities, both on a build to order and off the shelf basis. This will include issuing RFQ's, evaluating responses, negotiating with suppliers and awarding contracts.

It is likely you will have worked in a Buyer, Senior Buyer, Commodity Manager or similar role in an aerospace, defence or other comparable engineering/manufacturing company. Prior experience of using SAP would be preferred and experience in a buyer role in the defence industry would be very desirable.

The assignment is expected to run for at least 12 months and is based on 37.5hrs per week. Due to the nature of the role SC level security clearance will also be required.
