Buyer

A fantastic new opportunity for a dynamic procurement professional to join a busy manufacturing organisation as a Buyer.

Key Responsibilities of the Buyer;

Place and maintain the MRP purchase orders for delivery on time in full.

Ensure that all deliveries arrive on requested due date and hold vendors to account for their delivery performance.

Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the open order book.

Maintain KPI's and achieve targets.

Measure supplier performance.

Drive suppliers to achieve correct quality at all times.

Enforce ownership of the order book onto the supplier.

Personal Specification of the Buyer;

CIPS qualification would be an advantage.

Purchasing experience within a high volume manufacturing environment.

Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Excellent IT skills including Intermediate Excel skills.

Good working knowledge of MRP / ERP systems.

Ability to effectively prioritise workload.

Ability to work well on own initiative and as part of a team.

Strong problem solving skills.

Self-motivated and enthusiastic.

Flexibility to travel to meet suppliers as required.

This role would also suit you if you have held a role within purchasing or procurement as a Junior Buyer, Purchasing Controller, Supplier Manager or Buyer.
