An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a rapidly expanding Retail business who are looking for a Category manager to manage the sourcing and merchandising for a portfolio of products. This will be an incredibly commercial purchasing role with elements of brand management as well as deep analysis into product performance.

This role needs someone with Sourcing experience in Procurement and Purchasing in Retail and product focused role, ideally as a Category Buyer, Category Assistant, Buyer, Assistant Buyer and an existing Category Manager.

Key Responsibilities of the Category Manager:

• Ensure that profit margin expectations are achieved within category.
• Develop and enhance relationships with suppliers.
• Carry out administrative procedures and maintain price file, product data file is updated.
• Regularly undertake Product and Supplier range reviews and take appropriate steps to ensure ranges are maximising sales and revenue.
• Collect and analyse all data which measure product performance and take action that ensure maximisation of profit and sales.
• Be proactive and creative in suggesting and influencing trading, marketing, and commercial initiatives to ensure product performance is continually enhanced.
• Continually review Manufacturers Damages to ensure we are not financially disadvantaged.
• Undertake projects with a view to enhancing product performance.
• Develop and deliver own brand sourcing projects.
• Review market analysis to ensure maximum range performance and profitability.

Personal Specification of the Category Manager:

• Retail or FMCG Industry Background and experience with a product orientated role
• Excel experience - Proficient
• Category Experience

Salary:

Between £28,000 - £40,000
