This is an excellent opportunity to take on a long term contract working for a prime contractor in the defence engineering and manufacturing sector.
As the Commercial Manager your role will be to leverage contractual terms to ensure that suppliers successfully deliver as required to support various programmes. The Commercial Manager will be expected to have demonstrable experience of ensuring commercial and contractual delivery from suppliers and that the required levels of supplier performance are achieved.
It is likely you will have worked in a Commercial Manager, Supplier Manager, Commercial Officer or Subcontract Manager role in a prime contractor, large scale company in an aerospace, defence or other comparable engineering/manufacturing company in which complex systems are procured in their entirety from subcontractors.
Other aspects of this supplier manager role include ensuring the appropriate terms are specified in the contract and that they're being adhered to; negotiating and executing contracts and working with the supplier management teams to ensure technical, quality and cost milestones are being met.
The assignment is expected to run for at least 12 months and is based on 37.5hrs per week. Due to the nature of the role SC level security clearance will also be required.
