I have an opportunity for a Logistics Planner to join a growing manufacturing company near Tamworth. The role would be working in a busy Supply Chain Team managing Inbound deliveries and keeping in contact with freight companies.

This role would be best suited to a Logistics Coordinator, Logistics Planner, Logistics Administration, Import Controller, Export Controller, Logistics Coordinator, and Import/Export Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities of the Logistics Planner:

• Managing inbound deliveries to ensuring cost-effective and timely receipts of goods to meet the business requirements.
• Working accurately and effectively with data for multiple systems.
• Understanding the trend of freight costs.
• Communicating with providers to stay informed of the market changes.
• Liaising with providers for the best possible rates for air, land and sea shipments from a portfolio of suppliers.
• Coordinating and scheduling inbound deliveries.
• Troubleshooting shipping issues e.g. shipping routes, delayed items and rush orders.
• Reconciling and verifying the receipt of documents including Invoices, Packing Lists, Bill of Lading and etc.
• Entering and executing suspended receipts.
• Updating the shipment calendar.
• Booking stock on the system and preparing the labels for the Warehouse.
• Arranging the delivery of materials and samples to suppliers overseas.
• Preparing GRN reports to Accounts each Friday.

Personal Specification of the Logistics Planner:

• Strong MRP/Excel Experience
• Experience in a manufacturing/ distribution environment

Salary

Up to £22,000
