An excellent opportunity for a dynamic supply chain professional to join a busy organisation as a Materials Manager. The Materials Manager will be responsible for managing the supply and control of all materials on site, including Stores, Warehousing, Receipt, and Dispatch.

 

Key Responsibilities of the Materials & Logistics Manager;

Build and maintain a close working relationship with Production Managers to ensure materials control is supported throughout production.

Ensure a smooth flow of material at optimised inventory levels whilst meeting customer delivery requirements.

Manage and coordinate functions to include implementation and maintenance of inventory management systems and the receipt, storage and distribution of material.

Monitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Ensure carrier compliance with company policies & procedures for delivery.

Direct inbound & outbound logistics operations.

Manage operational staff in ensuring that material and production activities are conducted in an efficient manner.

Ensure complete accuracy in records maintained in respect of all waste ensuring it is auditable and correctly labelled.

Monitor, report and assist in establishing key performance indicators.

Identify areas for continuous improvement activities within the Supply chain Department.

Mentor and coach employees within the supply chain function.

Comply with quality standards.

 

Personal Specification of the Materials & Logistics Manager;

Degree qualified or equivalent.

Warehouse, Materials & Supply Chain Management experience.

Experience within a Manufacturing environment is essential.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing processes.

Good working knowledge of MRP / ERP systems.

Strong Leadership skills.

Strong communication skills.

Ability to operate well in a fast-paced environment.

Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
