Procurement Engineer

A fantastic opportunity for a dynamic Procurement professional to join a leading Manufacturing organisation as a Procurement Engineer, to drive improvement in Supplier Quality.

Specific Job Responsibilities of the Procurement Engineer;

Drive improvements in supplier quality and on time delivery through implementation of supplier improvement strategies.

Works with supplier organizations to rectify and improve On Time Delivery and quality issues.

Develop improvement plans with suppliers.

Develop and maintain procedures and policies to measure and manage supplier performance.

Develops a comprehensive supplier audit plan.

Reviews capability and capacity of suppliers.

Promote design for manufacturability by working with Product Engineering and suppliers.

Lead efforts required to develop, implement, and verify manufacturing control systems at suppliers.

Implement quality improvement activities.

Develop supplier certification program to select, evaluate and monitor suppliers.

Implement supplier scorecard to measure suppliers.

Personal Specification of the Procurement Engineer;

Degree qualified or equivalent.

Procurement experience within the aerospace industry is essential.

Supplier management and development experience is essential.

Lean manufacturing experience within a small to medium sized organisation.

Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts including; Kanban, Kaizen and Six Sigma.

Ability to work collaboratively and successfully with cross-functional teams.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Excellent IT skills including MS Office.

Flexibility to travel extensively to meet with suppliers.

Full, clean driving licence.

This role would suit an individual with previous experience in the following roles; Supplier Quality Engineer, Vendor Manager, Senior Buyer, Purchasing Manager, Procurement Engineer, Supplier Manager, Supplier Development Engineer.
