A great opportunity for a dynamic Purchasing & Supply Chain professional to join a leading organisation as a Procurement Manager.

 

Reporting into the Director of Purchasing, the Procurement Manager will be responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services, and developing relationships with suppliers.

 

Key Responsibilities of the Procurement Manager;

Accountable for a multi-million-pound spend ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.

Provide direction and leadership so that continuous improvement in operations is incorporated into strategic plans.

Plan, organise and direct all aspects of the material acquisition process, including tactical purchasing and supplier management.

Oversee supplier development and relationship management.

Accountable for establishing and maintaining Procurement policies and procedures.

Support all operating divisions with on-time materials and services of proper quality and quantity at competitive prices.

Assist in continuous monitoring and risk management of the supply chain to mitigate possible sales impacts, raw material price and supply trends, and contractual issues.

Roll out improved inventory management initiatives including vendor managed inventory.

 

Personal Specification of the Procurement Manager;

Degree qualified or equivalent within a relevant discipline.

Professional qualifications e.g. CIPS.

Proven Procurement experience.

Experience within a manufacturing environment is essential.

Strong Leadership skills.

Strong Communication & Stakeholder Management skills.

Ability to work using own initiative and to prioritise effectively.

Ambitious and Self-Motivated.

Flexibility to travel in the UK and Internationally as required.

 

This role would suit a candidate with experience in the following positions; Supply Chain Manager, Purchasing Manager, Category Manager, Commodity Manager, Senior Buyer, Lead Buyer, Purchasing Team Leader, Purchasing Supervisor, or Procurement Manager.
