A fantastic new opportunity for an experienced Supply Chain professional to join a leading organisation as a Procurement Specialist. The purpose of this role is to work closely with internal and external stakeholders to support the development of effective Supply Chain solutions.

Job Responsibilities of the Procurement Specialist;

Ensure compliance in relation to Legislative requirements that impact on Procurement activities.

Identify and agree division of value and risk with third parties, planning the negotiation strategy.

Identify the risks and developing options to close agreements successfully.

Use a wide range of influencing styles in order to execute negotiation with third parties.

Work alongside the Head of Supply Chain to support the development of proposals and tenders.

Understand and manage risk and opportunities throughout the supply chain.

Application of supplier quality assurance and control activities.

Plan the supplier support to a profile of demand from a project or business incorporating preferred supplier information and sourcing activities.

Understand customer requirements and manage their relevance to supplier selection and contracting alongside commercial colleagues.

Apply a total cost approach within Purchasing, looking at Costing to conduct a thorough life analysis to inform the purchasing decision and cost modelling.

Develop a Lean approach to Supply Chain.

Establish strong mutually supportive relationships with key stakeholders across the business.

Person Specification of the Procurement Specialist;

Degree qualified or equivalent.

Additional professional qualifications would be an advantage e.g. CIPS.

Proven Procurement & Supply Chain Management experience.

Understanding of Supply Chain Risk.

Experience within a manufacturing / engineering environment.

Strong influencing and negotiation skills.

Strong commercial acumen.

Excellent IT skills including MS Office.

Ability to work collaboratively with other departments within the business.
