A great opportunity for an experienced Purchasing professional to join a leading organisation as a Product & Buying Manager.

Responsibilities of the Product & Buying Manager;

Lead the product sourcing and supplier management functions.

Select and manage product suppliers to maximise the business' commercial position.

Work with Chinese suppliers on product development.

Deliver a competitive portfolio to meet customer requirements.

Understand the competitive landscape to ensure products in the portfolio are comparable to competitor brands.

Be the product expert in terms of: specifications, impact of specifications on pricing, technical functionality etc.

Be the technical lead for the product roadmap, to ensure new technologies and coming trends are catered for as appropriate in portfolio developments.

Develop product pricing and product positioning strategies for each sector to drive growth.

Own product compliance and quality to ensure all products are fully compliant with UK regulations prior to launch and that quality is maintained through product lifecycle.

Own the New Product Introduction Process to ensure effective launch management.

Work closely with suppliers and customers to deliver successful product launches.

Personal Specification for the Product & Buying Manager;

Degree qualified or equivalent would be preferred.

Proven Buying experience is essential.

Experience of Buying Electronic Consumer Products / Accessories is essential.

Experience within an SME Retail / FMCG organisation.

Far East Sourcing experience is essential.

Product Management experience would be an advantage.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills.

This role would suit you if you have held any of the following roles: Procurement Manager, Purchasing Manager, Product Manager, Buying Manager.
