Fancy a role in Purchasing and becoming a Buyer? I have a fantastic opportunity for a Purchasing Assistant to join a growing and progressive manufacturer based in Tamworth, with a salary of £20,000. This role would be perfect for a someone who has worked in a Supply Chain environment who wants to move into purchasing, or a recent graduate. The administrator would be supporting the procurement planner with inventory control and purchasing.

Candidates will have previous experience within purchasing or procurement and ideally would have been a Junior Buyer, Purchasing Administrator or a Procurement and Supply Chain Graduate.

Role responsibilities of the Procurement Assistant include:

• Work with Purchasing Planner to procure stock and monitor satisfactory stock level
• Place purchase orders with suppliers
• Monitor purchase orders and expedite deliveries if necessary
• Communicate with suppliers to understand delivery commitments or problems
• Update system for the stock arrival dates
• Compile reports to suppliers or management if required
• Backup to other team members
• Ad-hoc tasks as and when required

Person Specification of the Purchasing Assistant:

• Ability to act confidentially and with discretion
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative
• Hard-working and highly motivated
• Flexible & able to follow instructions
• Excellent computer literacy (Excel/Outlook)
• Good English. Chinese speaking is an advantage
