A reputable company in Britain that specialises in electrical and mechanical equipment is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to join their team at their location in Epping on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary between £90,000-£100,000 This role presents an exciting opportunity for a procurement professional to become a part of a long-standing and successful business.
Applicants must have a strong background in purchasing and procurement, particularly in a senior management capacity within a finished goods environment. They should possess a track record of effectively managing procurement processes and supplier relationships to ensure the successful delivery of goods and services.
Role responsibilities of the Purchasing Manager include:
- Running a team of buyers sourcing a large range of finished goods mainly in China and the Far Eat
- Responsible for selection of all new products for wholesale and retail trade
- Identify products and range to enhance company product offering
- Working with the buying, testing, and marketing teams to make sure products come to market within given time frames
- Scheduling all new product testing and product evaluation and managing flow of new products from import
- Ensuring full stock availability
- Selection of inbound shipping agencies
Person Specification of the Purchasing Manager:
- Proven track record of procurement and management experience - essential
- Experience of direct imports of finished consumer product from the Far East - essential
- Ability to explain, present and influence in a clear and concise manner
- Knowledge of key market commodities, the process, and the major suppliers
- Proven track record of leading teams
