A Fantastic opportunity for an experienced Procurement professional to join a leading manufacturing organisation as a Purchasing Manager. This role will be responsible for leading a small team.
Key Responsibilities of the Purchasing Manager;
Negotiating and raising contracts for the supply of materials.
Operating and managing an efficient and professional Purchasing function.
Developing and driving cost reduction programmes.
Working closely with the Engineering function to reduce costs using the Design to Cost (DTC) tool.
Eliminating single source in line with company targets.
Improving supplier payment terms.
Generating timely and accurate statistical information and analysis on supplier performance in the areas of quality, delivery, service and lead time.
Ensuring the most efficient and ethical purchasing techniques are used during the procurement cycle.
Maintaining and updating Company procedures and ensuring compliance.
Keeping abreast of supply market trends including developing benchmarking techniques.
Lead and develop a professional team.
Personal Specification of the Purchasing Manager;
Educated to Degree Level or equivalent.
Proven Purchasing experience.
Experience within a Manufacturing / Engineering environment.
Experience of leading a team.
Strong commercial acumen.
Excellent communication & negotiation skills.
Excellent IT skills including MS Office.
Good working knowledge of SAP / MRP.
Driven and flexible attitude.
Enthusiastic and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
