Butler Ross are pleased to be recruiting for a Purchasing Manager to join an SME manufacturing organisation based in Harlow, Essex. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking to blend strategic elements of procurement, with a hands-on purchasing position, and management of a small, but dedicated purchasing team.

Candidates will need to have previous experience within purchasing or procurement specifically within a manufacturing environment, have some form of prior management / mentoring / leadership experience, and be happy on-site 5-days a week. Key Responsibilities Include:

• Lead and develop the team to ensure efficient sourcing and purchasing operations
• Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to optimise cost, quality, and delivery performance
• Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, including pricing, terms, and service level agreements
• Analyse market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to align procurement activities with organisational goals
• Monitor and report on procurement metrics, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement

Ideal Experience:

• Previous purchasing or procurement experience, within a manufacturing environment
• Prior leadership / management experience
• Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with using ERP/MRP software - ideally SAP
• Strong Microsoft suite experience
