A fantastic new opportunity for a dynamic procurement professional to join a busy manufacturing organisation as a Senior Buyer.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Buyer;
Purchase raw material goods and services to support production.
Oversee the purchase order process.
Manage competitive tenders, orders and acknowledgements.
Ensure that raw materials are procured competitively and are value for money.
Carry out benchmark pricing activity and forecasting future price movements of raw materials to enable effective procurement.
Establish key supplier relationships.
Manage stock levels and ensure these are optimised to the production levels.
Negotiate with suppliers for most beneficial terms for the Company.
Produce procurement reports.
Work with the Category Managers to ensure goods and services are procured efficiently from the agreed sources.
Monitoring the delivery and fulfilment performance of the suppliers by means of a scorecard.
Personal Specification of the Senior Buyer;
Degree qualified or equivalent.
CIPS qualification would be an advantage.
Purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Excellent IT skills including Advanced Excel skills.
Good working knowledge of MRP / ERP systems.
Ability to effectively prioritise workload.
Ability to work well on own initiative and as part of a team.
Strong problem solving skills.
Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
This role would also suit you if you have held a role within purchasing or procurement as a Purchasing Controller, Supplier Manager, Senior Buyer or Buyer.
