A fantastic new opportunity for a dynamic procurement professional to join a busy manufacturing organisation as a Senior Buyer.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Buyer;
Responsible for category contract negotiations, ensuring the best total acquisition cost from current or new suppliers.
Ensure the category supply base is developed to improve quality, service, technical competence and reliability.
Achieve year on year savings for specified categories.
Lead cost reduction initiatives.
Lead purchasing activities to drive quality improvements with suppliers.
Maintain a contract database for a defined group of categories.
Assess and manage risk for a defined group of categories, taking appropriate action to minimise the impact on supply.
Support company inventory reduction initiatives with category suppliers.
Personal Specification of the Senior Buyer;
Degree qualified or equivalent.
CIPS qualification would be an advantage.
Procurement experience within a manufacturing environment.
Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Management experience.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Excellent IT skills including Advanced Excel skills.
Ability to effectively prioritise workload.
Ability to work well on own initiative and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
This role would also suit you if you have held a role within purchasing or procurement as a Purchasing Controller, Supplier Manager, Senior Buyer, Buyer or Strategic Sourcing Manager.
