A fantastic new opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to join a leading manufacturing organisation as a Senior Buyer, to be responsible for a small team of Buyers.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Buyer;
Manage the Purchasing team effectively to ensure appropriate tactical implementation of Procurement plans.
End to end management of Supply Chain material demands.
Drive down Supply Chain costs through savings and execution of category strategies.
Work to continually develop a robust and sustainable Supply Chain that can support planned growth.
Negotiation and management of long-term supply agreements to strengthen the supply chain and deliver against performance targets.
Act as an ERP subject matter expert deliver business wide system support.
Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers in line with Business Objectives.
Integral member of cross functional stakeholder groups providing support to the bid process.
Responsible for maintenance of KPI's and tracking of performance against agreed targets.
Personal Specification of the Senior Buyer;
Proven Procurement / Purchasing experience.
Degree and / or Professional Qualifications would be preferred.
Experience within a technical manufacturing environment.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Good working knowledge of MRP / ERP systems.
Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma would be preferred.
Ability to effectively prioritise workload.
Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
Flexibility to travel to meet suppliers as required.
