Senior Buyer

A brilliant opportunity for a strategic and confident Senior Buyer to join the procurement and supply chain team within a leading defence business. This position is offered on a hybrid working basis of 60% homeworking and 40% office-based working in Plymouth, and is paying approximately £37,000.

Successful candidates will have experience within a procurement or purchasing team as a Buyer, Senior Buyer, Strategic Buyer or Category Buyer in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Role responsibilities of the Senior Buyer:

• Managing supplier performance and contracts
• Establishing project requirements and working with procurement strategy
• Managing a spend of approximately £10m
• Implementing supply arrangements and ensuring projects run smoothly
• Delivering on project objectives

Personal specification of the Senior Buyer:

• An experienced procurement professional
• Takes a hands-on approach
• Full and thorough understanding of supply chains
• Has the ability to understand contract and subcontract terms
• A driven and motivated individual

This position will be suited to you if you have held a role within a manufacturing or engineering environment as a: Buyer, Senior Buyer, Strategic Buyer, Category Buyer, Category Manager, Commodity Manager or Project Buyer.
