Butler Ross has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Buyer to join a Manufacturing company outside Peterborough. This role will be working on several bespoke projects, being the senior procurement team member. This role would involve mentoring duties and a mixture of strategic and operational procurement, and as this role will be working on bespoke projects, experience with engineering drawings would be advantageous.

This role will be best suited for a Buyer, Technical Buyer, Project Buyer, Commercial Buyer, Engineering Buyer or Senior Buyer.

Role responsibilities of the Senior Buyer:

• Manage suppliers and commodities assessing commodity risk.
• Lead cost down initiatives including unit costs/process improvement, product quality improvements and lead-time reduction.
• Global sourcing and tendering.
• Setting up and maintaining supplier agreements and drafting contracts.
• Supplier management, conducting regular reviews and audits.

Person Specification of the Senior Buyer:

• Experience in Manufacturing environments
• ERP/MRP experience
• Experience with ISO9000, AS9100, ISO1348
• Kaizen, Six Sigma, 5S, PokeYoke, 8D, PCDA etc

Salary

Up to 40k

This role will be best suited for a Buyer, Technical Buyer, Project Buyer, Commercial Buyer, Engineering Buyer or Senior Buyer.
