Senior Buyer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Purchasing professional to join a growing retail organisation as a Senior Buyer.

 

Role Responsibilities of the Senior Buyer;
Sourcing new suppliers and leading supplier negotiations.

Exploring alternative and cost-effective avenues to achieve business objectives.

Negotiating contracts and Terms of Business.

Reviewing supplier performance and conducting annual reviews.

Leading supplier rationalisation activities.

Support with the development of Cost Down programmes.

Develop and manage relationships with suppliers.

Support NPD and provide advice in achieving product target pricing.

Develop standard procurement policies and standards.

Monitor market fluctuations in raw material pricing to identify risk and opportunities for the business.

Work with key stakeholders in the business.

 

Personal Specification of the Senior Buyer;
Degree Qualified or equivalent.

CIPS would be an advantage.

Proven Purchasing experience within a fast-moving Retail / FMCG environment.

Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Excellent IT skills including Excel.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.

Strong problem-solving skills.

This role would also suit you if you have held a role within purchasing or buying as a Buyer, Senior Buyer, Sourcing Specialist, Commodity Manager, Purchasing Controller, Supplier Manager or Category Manager.
