Strategic Procurement Specialist

Butler Ross have an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated Strategic Procurement Specialist to join the procurement and supply chain team within a leading defence business. This position will be specialising in procurement and supply chain across the construction and infrastructure programme. The role is offered on a hybrid basis of approximately two days per week onsite in Plymouth, and is paying up to £50,000 dependent on experience.

The successful candidate will have previously worked within a procurement team as a Senior Buyer, Category Manager or Procurement Specialist, and will be experienced with construction, infrastructure and subcontract procurement.

Role responsibilities of the Strategic Procurement Specialist:

• Developing and implementing category strategy
• Market evaluation and commercial awareness
• Analysing and making necessary adjustments to the procurement framework
• Sourcing construction contractors and service subcontracts
• Bring transformation and value to the procurement team and wider business

Personal specification of the Strategic Procurement Specialist:

• An experienced construction/infrastructure procurement professional
• Takes a hands-on approach
• Is knowledgeable and experienced with contract processes
• Strong communication skills with the ability to relationship-build and negotiate
• Able to present well and interpret complex data

This position will be suited to you if you have held a role within a manufacturing or engineering environment as a: Procurement Specialist, Senior Buyer, Category Manager, Commodity Manager, Category Lead or Commodity Lead.
