A fantastic opportunity for a Supply Chain Manager to join a specialist manufacturing company based in West Sussex. This position will be to lead the Purchasing and Supply Chain team ensuring strategic procurement activities are implemented.
This position will be joining a fast-paced manufacturing environment where you will be working with a range of cutting edge products and looking to drive innovation. This will be a mainly strategic based role where managing business relationships, sourcing new vendors and vetting potential suppliers will be key to maintain high quality levels for all products manufactured.
Key Responsibilities of the Supply Chain Manager
Support and work with the senior management team to develop and implement key purchasing strategies.
Create clearly defined purchasing objectives and KPIs to look for ways of improving performance
Manage procurement to ensure that overall business objectives are achieved
Manage the balance between the key long-term goals and the short-term requirements
Understand all current and future projects and their requirements to buy any required material
Manage the sourcing of all materials, parts, components and consumables required considering restraints such as economical, time frames and quality
Planning the supply chain effectively taking into account of any potential risk of shortages
Develop vendor qualification program to offer supplier performance reviews and drive continuous improvement
Be responsible for profitability by communicating with other departments such as finance, sales and production.
Key Requirements of the Supply Chain Manager
Experienced managing a small team within a supply chain function
Experience working in a high value, fast-paced manufacturing environment
Strong strategic procurement experience including purchasing procedures and methods
Advanced negotiation skills with the ability to influence effectively
Superb communication and relationship building skills
Ability to obtain security clearance in the UK
This position would suit someone that has been a Procurement Manager or Supply Chain Manager within a Manufacturing Environment that is looking for a position where they are able to make a real difference.
