A fantastic new opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to join a leading manufacturing organisation as a Supply Chain Manager, to be responsible for developing the overall sourcing and supply chain strategy for the business.
Key Responsibilities of the Purchasing Manager;
Management of end to end supply chain function.
Manage and develop collaborative supplier relationships.
Support major bid activity where there is a significant procurement requirement.
Implement procurement strategies that support new product development activities across the company.
Identify and implement Continuous Improvement activities.
Identify new suppliers and negotiate terms and supply agreements.
Conduct supplier visits and audits as required.
Support the development of structured supplier contracts and ensure project management is applied to reduce risk.
Identify and resolve supplier issues.
Manage compliance with contract terms & conditions.
Oversee the sourcing of all goods and services required to support the activities of the business.
Achieve sustained continual cost reduction, delivery and quality targets.
Lead, mentor and evaluate all members of the supply chain team.
Personal Specification of the Supply Chain Manager;
End to End Supply Chain Management experience.
Degree and / or Professional Qualifications would be preferred.
Purchasing experience within manufacturing environment.
Strong Leadership skills.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Good working knowledge of MRP / ERP systems.
Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma would be preferred.
Ability to effectively prioritise workload.
Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
Flexibility to travel to meet suppliers as required.
This role would also suit you if you have held a role within purchasing or procurement as a Supply Chain Manager, Purchasing Manager, Procurement Manager, Materials Manager, Purchasing Team Leader, Senior Buyer, Purchasing Controller or Supplier Manager.
