Fantastic opportunity for an experienced Technical Buyer to join a busy Procurement team.
Key Responsibilities of the Technical Buyer;
Manage supplier performance to required quality, cost and delivery requirements.
Ensure any problems are resolved in a timely manner.
Work with the external supply chain to achieve the most favourable terms and conditions with the most competitive price possible.
Conduct regular order book reviews maintaining accurate and achievable delivery commitments against set targets.
Carry out supplier selection assessments against set criteria.
Implement cost improvement plans delivering year on year cost reductions.
Be accountable for the total purchasing life cycle.
Close out any performance issues in line with the companies set purchasing KPI's
Personal Specification of the Technical Buyer;
Proven Procurement experience
Able to read and understand Engineering Drawings.
CIPS qualification or studying towards preferred but not essential.
Excellent communication & negotiation skills
Excellent IT skills including MS Office
Good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
Enthusiastic and ability to work effectively as part of a team
Demonstrate a flexible attitude towards all types of work.
This role would also suit you if you have held a role as a Buyer, Junior Buyer, Procurement Assistant or Purchasing Controller.
